The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) has announced that work will commence this spring on the Blue Water Bridge plaza at Point Edward, Ontario.
The scope of work on this project includes the demolition of a vacant commercial building, related civil works and the construction of an emergency return road. The addition of the emergency return road will ensure that there is access for first responders, will ease the return of traffic to the U.S., allow for broker access for U.S. bound commercial vehicles and improve the entry and exit of maintenance and delivery vehicles on the Blue Water Bridge plaza.
The improvements are expected to take several years and the scope and schedule of each project will be announced at a later date by the FBCL. For expanded information, see this release from the Federal Bridge Corporation.
