In response to the demonstrations and nationwide road blockades that began yesterday, we are sharing an updated summary of confirmed impacts, along with relevant information for your operations.
1. General Situation in Mexico
Various groups have implemented partial and total closures on federal and state highways across multiple regions of the country. Affected areas include:
-
Mexico City and Metropolitan Area (México–Puebla, Arco Norte, Autopista Urbana Norte)
-
Puebla (Puebla–Veracruz, Puebla–Orizaba, federal crossings and highways)
-
Veracruz (Orizaba and central region)
-
Michoacán (Autopista Siglo XXI, Highway 15D, and multiple local roads)
-
Guanajuato, Jalisco, Chihuahua, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, Zacatecas, Coahuila, Baja California, Sonora, and Sinaloa, among other strategic corridors
-
The Pharr International Bridge (Tamaulipas) continues to experience impacts due to the presence of demonstrators
2. New Official Updates (November 25 – 07:00 hrs)
The Government of Mexico has confirmed partial closures — allowing passage only to private vehicles and emergency services — at the following locations:
-
Gómez Palacio–Jiménez Highway, Jiménez–Zavalza segment, Km. 230+000
-
Mexico 45 Highway – Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua–Delicias segment, Km. 167+000
-
Mexico 45 Highway – Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua–Ciudad Juárez segment, Km. 350+000
-
Ascensión–Janos Highway, Km. 175+000
Authorities have warned that conditions may change at any moment, and updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
3. Update for the Ciudad Juárez Region
Authorities and carriers have confirmed that blockades continue in the area, affecting several border crossings:
-
Córdova–Américas: Operating with trailer crossings
-
Tornillo: Closed
-
Zaragoza: Closed
-
Santa Teresa: Closed
Reminder: There is currently no official information regarding when these border crossing statuses may change. We recommend anticipating delays and adjusting operations accordingly if your cargo depends on these routes.
4. No Operational Impact at Colombia Bridge and Laredo/Nuevo Laredo Customs
As of now, no interruptions have been reported at:
-
Colombia Bridge (Nuevo León)
-
Nuevo Laredo Customs (Tamaulipas)
Both points continue operating normally, with no closures or extraordinary delays.
Overall traffic in the region also remains normal. However, due to road blockades in different areas of the country, some Mexican customs facilities may experience slower processing, even if not formally closed.
5. Recommendations for Your Operations
-
Plan for potential delays and consider alternate routes within Mexican territory.
-
When possible, use border crossings that are currently operating without disruptions, such as Colombia Bridge and Laredo.
