January 19, 2026. The National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA) has issued a bulletin regarding reports of a potential 10 percent U.S. tariff that may apply to certain imports from select EU countries, the United Kingdom, and Norway, with a possible effective date of February 1.
The NCBFAA notes that specific details have not yet been released, including the scope of products covered, the countries affected, and the implementation process. At this time, no Executive Order or Federal Register notice has been published to formally establish these measures.
Buckland is actively monitoring the issuance of any revised Executive Orders and Federal Register notices. Once official guidance is published, we will provide a follow-up bulletin with additional details and compliance considerations.
