Today, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) communicated an update about the ongoing issues impacting their systems this week, including the following details:
- On Sunday, September 28, 2025, following a planned maintenance update, CBSA experienced a technical problem that temporarily shut down several key border processing systems, including ACROSS, Single Window, eManifest, and Commercial Exports.
- While the issue has been resolved, the resulting backlog is still impacting operations. CBSA is actively processing delayed electronic messages, and we are seeing steady progress toward normal clearance procedures. As recovery continues, more shipments are being cleared electronically through regular channels.
- CBSA’s contingency procedures remain in effect for shipments arriving without an electronic message on file. However, this is expected to be the exception as we move into the weekend.
- CBSA has confirmed that this incident was not the result of a cyber attack and did not affect the CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) system.
As we wait for CBSA to restore operations fully, we will continue to monitor this situation and will provide further updates as they become available.
