KELLEY ZYLSTRA
CEO
As Buckland’s Chief Executive Officer, Kelley oversees all lines of business and shared services within the Buckland group of companies, including the Canadian, US, and Mexican operations. Kelley began her career at Buckland as a General Accountant in 2006 and has since held the positions of Controller, VP Finance and Special Projects, Vice President of Finance and Northern Border Operations and Chief Financial Officer. Kelley studied Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Finance at Fanshawe College as well as Sociology at Western University. Kelley holds her CPA, CGA designation in addition to her Certified Customs Specialist designation from the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers.

John Merrylees

As Buckland’s Chief Strategy Officer, John is responsible for the strategic direction of the organization and planning, both in the short term and long term. John is focused on the ongoing improvement of the organization's business model, Buckland's Mexican entity, overall processes, and establishing key long-term relationships with business partners that enhance Buckland’s market position. John began his career at Buckland as Controller in 2003, where he was an integral part in the development of Buckland internal processing network. Over the years he has held various executive positions, including Chief Operating Officer, and most recently Chief Strategy Officer in 2020. John holds an Honors Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He obtained his CPA, CA designation from the ICAO and CPA (US) designation along with both the US and Canadian CCS designations. John is actively involved in local sports organizations.

Vice President, U.S. Brokerage & Compliance
Over the past 25 years, Carol has been instrumental in the growth of Buckland’s U.S. Customs Brokerage operations from a team of less than 10 to a skilled team of more than 150. In her role as the Vice President, US Brokerage & Compliance, Carol provides exceptional leadership for the operations and growth of U.S Customs Brokerage services and International Trade Compliance & Consulting. Carol holds her Certified Customs Specialist designation from the CSCB (Canada) and the NCBFAA (US) and is a Licensed Customs Broker in the United States.

Vice President Sales, Service, & Marketing
As the Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing at Buckland, Javier leads a team responsible for developing business across Canada, USA and Mexico. With over 20 years of experience in logistics, trade and supply chain, Javier has a proven track record of delivering value-added solutions. Javier is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCMP) and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the Universidad Marista in Mexico. Javier’s mission is to apply and evaluate the corporate commercial strategy while maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
