Canada Announces Tariff Relief on Some PPE Imports

May 7, 2020 – The Government of Canada has announced that tariffs on certain medical goods, including masks and gloves will be waived in order to ensure the Canadians have access to personal protective equipment (PPE). This will reduce the tariffs on some items, which have been up to 18% depending on the item. This tariff reduction measure will remain in place as long as required to meet the needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
