The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)’s Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) will come into force on January 15, 2019. New requirements will apply to businesses and individuals importing food, including non-alcoholic beverages into Canada under these regulations.
The intention of these new regulations is to safeguard Canada’s food system by preventing unsafe food from entering the marketplace and allowing for faster removal.
