Fee Increase – RIV Program

Fees for vehicles entering Canada through the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) Program are set to increase as of August 1, 2018. Vehicles entering the RIV Program with a Vehicle Import Form- Form 1 or RIV e-Form 1:

• Increased from $295 plus Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Quebec Sales tax (QST) to $310 plus GST and QST, for vehicles entering Canada through a port of entry in Quebec.
• Increased from $295 plus Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Provincial Sales Tax (PST) or Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) to $310 plus GST/PST or the HST, for vehicles entering Canada through a port of entry in any other province or territory.​

Vehicles entering the RIV Program with a Vehicle Imported for Parts Form – Form 3 or RIV e-Form 3 (parts only vehicles):

• Increase from $90 plus GST and QST to $95 plus GST and QST, for vehicles entering Canada through a port of entry in Quebec.
• Increase from $90 plus GST/PST or HST to $95 plus GST/PST or HST, for vehicles entering through a border crossing in any other province or territory.
