U.S. Announces $300 Billion of Additional Tariffs on Chinese Goods

The escalating trade negotiations between China and the U.S. have resulted in further tariffs this week from both sides.

On Monday, May 13, 2019, China announced that they will impose tariffs of up to 25% on $60 billion worth of U.S. goods beginning in June. On the same day, the USTR released a list of $300 billion worth of Chinese goods that will be subject to duties under Section 301. This list includes a variety of goods and will now enter a public comment period, likely coming into effect this summer.
