Update: Decommissioning of OGD Service Options

On March 9, 2018 we reached out to you regarding a delay in the upcoming decommission of Other Government Departments (OGD) service options Pre Arrival Release System (PARS) & Release on Minimal Documentation (RMD) which was originally scheduled for April 1, 2018. Today, we are following up with you regarding the revised dates for the decommission, associated with the Single Window Initiative (SWI).

We received a notification from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) yesterday that indicates that the CBSA has extended the deadline to onboard the SWI/IID (Integrated Import Declaration) to January 1, 2019. Additionally, the CBSA has communicated that the new deadline to sunset legacy service options OGD PARS and OGD RMD will be April 1, 2019. Buckland has been prepared for this change well ahead of the originally scheduled deadline.

The CBSA’s Single Window Initiative streamlines the sharing of commercial import data between the Government of Canada and the import community. It balances the needs of government departments and agencies with today’s globally competitive business environment. Along with the CBSA, there are nine participating government departments and agencies representing 38 government programs.
